LISBON: The cost of refuelling in Portugal has hit a 17-month high following a fifth consecutive weekly increase. The price of fuel at the pumps rose by an average of 1.5 cents a litre just after Christmas to climb to the highest figure since July 2015. The latest spike in fuel prices is blamed on the weakening euro against the dollar and the rising cost of oil on international markets. The cost of unleaded fuel is now at an average of €1.45 a litre while diesel is now sitting at €1.20.
