ISLAMABAD: Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Sarwat Tahira Habib assured the counsel of M/s DHL that three cases involving Rs30 million of revenue will be decided till October 2018.
Sources told Customs Today that a complaint has been filed under Section 10(1) of the FTO Ordinance 2000 against the Collectorate (Adjudication) Islamabad for delay in finalizing adjudication proceeding in cases filed by Customs Collectorate (MCC) versus M/s DHL Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd in which revenue of Rs9 million is involved.
Sources said that the second case is also between the same parties MCC vs DHL Pakistan in which Rs11 million revenue is involved while in third case Rs.10 million of revenue is involved.
Sources said that M/s DHL is of the view that that above cases are delaying in Adjudication Islamabad for long period because of that it approached the FTO so it can ask the adjudication department for speedy conclusion of the cases against the DHA.
Sources added that after gathered all the facts the FTO disposing the complaint that “in view of the foregoing discussion no case of maladministration is made out against the department; however, the FBR is to monitor the pending proceedings and ensure that adjudication of impugned cases is completed within the extended period i.e 5.10.2018.
