KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port where four ships. Majestic Sky. APL Howalia and Caspian Gas carrying Containers, Soya bean, LNG LPG were arranged berthing at Qasim international Container Terminal, Grain & Ferilizer Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and SSGC Terminal respectively on Sunday, 19th November-2017. While six more ships, E.R Felistowe, MSC Vittoria, APL Antwers, Sakizaya Miracle, New Century and Loggonda scheduled to load/offload Containers Cement, Coanola seeds and Diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at fifty nine percent on Sunday where a total of tenn ships namely, G.H Chinook, APL Norway, Trade Will, Majestic Sky, Thetis, Magia, APL Huwaila, Bunga Angsana, BW Integrity and Caspian Gas are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Sun Flower seeds, Soya Bean seeds, Coal, LPG, LNG and Palm oil respectively during last 24 hours. Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 126,300 tonnes, comprising 94,798 tonnes import cargo and 31,502 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,393 Containers (TEUs). (735 TEUs imports and 1,658 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port. Two ships APL Norway and Bunga Angsana sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships G.H Chinook and Thetis are expected to sail on same in the afternoon.
Five ships E.R Felixstowe, MSC Vittoria, Express Makalu, Yukon Star and Mezaira carrying Containers, Palm oil and Diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT and FOTCO respectively on Monday, 20th November-2017, While three more ships MSC Tomoko, Maersk Pittsburg and APL Antwerp with containers are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
