KARACHI: Four ships, CMA CGM Maupassant, MS Charm, STI Venere and Totonno Bottiglieri carrying containers, Steel Coil, Soya Bean Oil and Furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Friday.
Meanwhile five more ships carrying Containers, Soya Bean and Palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 65% on Thursday where a total of eleven ships namely, CMA CGM Maupassant, Thor Insuvi, MSC Charm, Dragon Ocean, Warisa Naree, Ocean Prefect, W Pacific, Black Pearl-110, Al-Jassasiya, STI Venere and Totonno Bottiglieri were occupied PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Cement, Steel Coil, Coal, Soya Bean Seeds, LPG, LNG, Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 143,521 tonnes, comprising 117,491 tonnes import cargo and 26,030 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,960 containers, (TEUs), (1,000 TEUs imports and 950 TEUs exports) was handed at the Port.
Two Gas carriers Black Pearl-110 and Al-Jassasiya and a Bulk Cargo carrier Warisa Naree sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while Container Vessel CMA CGM Maupassant is expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.
Four ships, GH Chinook, Tucapel, Prosper and Lady Amna carrying Containers and DAP are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-1) respectively on Friday, while Gas carrier White Purl and Oil tanker Pavini Spirit are due to arrive at
PQ on same day and three more ships Safmarine Ngami, APL Austria and Star Ploeg with Containers and Palm oil due to arrive on Saturday.
