HELSINKI: National flag carrier Finnair will cancel flights from Monday evening, in case the Finnish Aviation Union support strike is observed next week. Airpro,a subsidiary of Finavia has threatened to go on strike which will affect baggage handling.
According to a statement from Finavia, the Finnish Aviation Union and the Finnish Cabin Crew Union have proposed industrial action in air traffic to take place on 19-20 May. The effects of the industrial action may be exhibited to air passengers as delayed luggage deliveries, flight delays and flight cancellations. Finavia estimates that the industrial action may affect up to tens of thousands of passengers. According to Finnair, the strike could lead to cancellation of flights from Monday to Thursday. Finnair will communicate with its customers in case of any cancellation.
