WARSAW: Poland could face “a serious problem” were Greece to exit the euro zone as it would harm stability and growth of Poland’s main trading and financial partner, Finance Minister Mateusz Szczurek said in a televised interview for Polsat News broadcaster.
While the current Greek problems have a limited impact on the growth and stability of the Polish economy, “one should analyze whether a potential Greece exit from the euro zone would be a serious problem, Szczurek said. “In my opinion it would be.”
Grexit “would distort the stability of the euro zone and while Poland is not a euro zone member, it is in our vital interest that the euro zone is safe, growing and stable, as it is our basic trade and financial partner,” he explained.
