KARACHI: The Customs Adjudication-I received Rs8.69million in response to a final notice served on a defaulter company named M/s Areeba Digital Frame Works. The adjudication has also issued a show cause notice to the M/s Al Warsa Marble Karachi on the charge of mis-declaration/description.
The M/s Areeba Digital Frame Works was allegedly involved in a tax evasion. The company imported a consignment of Digital frames and laminated papers in the month of January 2017 which was examined through Shamim Akhter who used the wrong PCT heading.
After a careful investigation, the Customs Adjudication-I issued a final notice to the company on March 19. The company cleared the amount of Rs8.69million on Monday.
Source said that another company named M/s Al Warsa Marble got cleared a consignment of cutter machines and blades on December 16, 2018 and evaded a tax.
After a careful investigation, the company defaulted Rs6.78million. Investigation team In-Charge Sifat Bahadur made a investigation report, attached all documents to Al Warsa Company and submitted to caretaker collector after 4 days of the submitted report. The Customs Adjudication-I issued a show cause notice to the Al Warsa Marble. According to the show cause, the defaulter company again submitted the whole consignment clearance documents within three days.
