LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue Regional Tax I office Lahore Intelligence, Investigations and Prosecution wing has recovered Rs 85 million by resolving a tax defaulter case.
Raheem Yar Khan Sugar Mills committed fraud by not paying sales tax and federal excise duty worth million of rupees. Sources said that case was pending for many days.
FBR RTO I Chief Commissioner Waqar Ahmed took the action against the fraudulent and assigned the task to II&P incharge Deputy Commissioner Raza Ashfaq to tackle the culprits. Chief Commissioner Waqar Ahmed also directed DC Ashfaq to lodge an FIR against the accused.
Following the instruction of authorities, DC Ashfaq and his team including Inspectors Mian Abdul Qayyum, Sadiq Salik, Qaiser Malik and Rana Ijaz took measures and detected the evaders. On getting information about the actions of FBR, the Rahim Yar Khan Sugar Mills deposited the fraudulently evaded amount Rs 85 million to national exchequer.
The sources informed that culprit was still at large nd the II&P team was trying hard to arrest him. The sources also informed that CC RTO I praised the performance of the II&P team on recovering a big amount.
