ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue will be able to meet its revenue targets for the current financial year as the growth in tax revenue collection stands at 6 % after the passing of seven and a half months of current financial year.
According to sources, the Federal Board of Revenue has collected Rs1800billion tax revenue as compare to last year’s revenue of Rs1690billion in the same period. The FBR needed to receive Rs1821billion in four and a half months to meet the revenue targets of current financial year. In the first 15 days of February 2017 (Till 15thFeb), the FBR generated Rs115billion while it had collected Rs143billion in last year during the same period.
Although there is a 31 % increase in customs duties and 18% in income tax revenue yet the total growth in revenue is 6 to 9 %. This year on 15th of February, the FBR has earned Rs25billion while it had collected Rs43billion in a single day during last year.
