KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to further tighten its noose around tax defaulters.
The FBR authorities have also started scrutinising cases of those industrialists and businessmen who have been showing less income despite having good business.
Sources told Customs Today that a majority of these industrialists and businessmen operate forged bank accounts by using the name of their relatives and personal servants.
The FBR sources revealed that these businessmen and industrialists are running their business by using others’ names. They did not mention the name of bank in their tax returns to avoid tax payment, they said. Sources said that the FBR authorities have already finalised negotiations with the Pakistan Banks Association in this regard.
