ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Member Administration Shahid Hussain Jatoi has said that the services accounts of all those officials are closed who are availing ex-Pakistan leave and getting salaries from the department. He said these officials are employed abroad. Shahid Hussain Jatoi said: “We are taking measures for reimbursement of their salaries according to rules and regulations.”
Talking to Customs Today in his office, he said that there are officials who went abroad and get employment and did not return to the country while some officials are already running their business there. He said that most of these officials belong to grade 17 and grade 20.
He said, “We are investigating that whether these officials were paid their salaries by mistake or with the support of department’s officials.” He said that if any official found involved in payment of their salaries then stern action would be taken against them.
Shahid Hussain Jatoi said that now rules for ex-Pakistan leaves are changed we are scrutinizing SOP and introducing new categories in it. According to new rules not officials will be allowed to avail ex-Pakistan leave for a period of five years.
