LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue has again given deadline to the FBR officials regarding the declaration of assets to avoid the cancellation of performance allowance.
As per notification, a number of officers have still not submitted their declaration of assets despite the twice reminders. The FBR has issued circular regarding the declaration of assets on August 5 and November 17, 2014 but officials did not submit the detail of their movable and immovable assets.
Now, the FBR has warned the non-compiler officials that the performance allowance of officers who fail to submit their declaration for the year ending June 30, 2014 will be discontinued/de-notified after February 9, 2015. It is important to mention that performance allowance is equal to the basic pay.
Sources informed there are almost 320 officers from BS 17 to BS 21 who has not submitted their declaration. On the other hand, experts are of the view that department should take serious action against the officials who collect the returns of public but avoid to submit their own. Instead of cancelling the performance allowance, department should confiscate their assets or dismiss them from their posts, they suggested.
