KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) finally assigned Rs 817.08 billion revenue collection target to Pakistan Customs – Model Customs Collectorates – for the ongoing fiscal year i.e. 2015-16.
According to documents available with Customs Today, the FBR tasked the MCC Appraisement West with Rs 251,356.21 million as revenue collection for the FY 2015-16 under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, federal excise duty and the withholding tax.
While, MCC Appraisement East targeted with Rs 249,898.37 million taxes/duties, the documents say.
Moreover, the MCC Port Muhammad Bin Qasim has been assigned the target of revenue collection at Rs 315,826.17 million.
According to sources, the MCC Appraisement East collected some Rs 46.94 billion during the first two months i.e. July and August 2015-16. While the MCC Appraisement West collected Rs 35.82 billion in the same period i.e. July and August 2015-16.
Furthermore, Model Customs Collectorates Preventive, Hyderabad, Quetta, Gwadar of Enforcement-South Region and Export (Port Muhammad Bin Qasim) collected Rs 2622.63 million under the head of customs duty in July 2015-16 while Rs 3596.82 million in the month of August.
