LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday submitted its reply before the Supreme Court in missing NATO containers case.
The report stated that the customs officials released 265 containers on fake documents in 2007 which were missed.
The report further stated that four customs officials were involved in missing containers case and they minted Rs 2.5 billion in this regards but no action had been taken against them.
The FBR in its inquiry report nominated two customs officers including Azhar Majeed and Riffat Abadi in the case. However, the accused were retired from services after attaining the age of superannuation.
The FBR also raised objections on the efficiency of the customs clearance system on Karachi port and port Qasim.
