LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has started the audit of tax statements filed by stage actresses.
Sources told Customs Today that the FBR received credible reports that some stage actresses are living in luxury homes and possessing luxury vehicles but avoiding to pay tax according to their income.
After receiving the reports from their own sources, the FBR has started scrutinizing the income tax returns filed by the stage actress. The FBR authorities are also determining that whether they filed income tax returns according to their actual income or not.
The FBR has already sent them notices asking them to clear outstanding tax dues at the earliest to avoid further legal action.
