ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), in collaboration with World Bank, has launched pilot project of Automatic Risk Management System (ARMS) with the aim to trace the tax evaders, it is learnt here.
According to official sources, the project named Automatic Risk Management System was delayed since one-and-half-year; however, during recent visit of World Bank delegation and meeting with FBR high-ups, the project was discussed and both the managements were agreed to expedite the project with full concentration.
Sources added that World Bank delegation also discussed and agreed with FBR high-ups regarding the feasibility study. Under the Automatic Risk Management System project, separate parameters will be defined for different department to curd tax evasion.
Meanwhile separate software will be used for separate department in order to trace the tax evaders and halt tax evasion, sources added.
Sources added that under this project risk-based audit will be conducted of all the taxpayers. While till now the board has no technological facility to analyze the difference between the income and expenditure of the taxpayers. However, with launching of this project, the board is now enable to use technology for the analysis of taxpayers data instead of manually tracing the tax evaders, sources confirmed.
