MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue has separated two districts (Khanewal and Kasur) from newly created Regional Tax Office Sahiwal on the demand of business community.
The Federal Board of Revenue has set up new Regional Tax Office in Sahiwal to expand the tax collection in the area. After setting up of new Regional Tax Office in the Sahiwal, business community of few districts were facing multiple issues after sudden change in their jurisdiction.
It is pertinent to mention that Sahiwal Zone was working under the Regional Tax Office Multan before setting up of New Regional Tax Office in Sahiwal. Region Tax Office Sahiwal jurisdiction was comprised of three districts including Sahiwal, Kasur and Okara.
Business community of various regions has shown concerns over the formation of Regional Tax Office in Sahiwal due to its non-operational services. The Federal Board of Revenue has formed Regional Tax Office in Sahiwal but the tax record has not been upgraded so far and taxpayers are facing grave issues.
Sources told that taxpayer database record up gradation is under process and it will be completed very soon. Taxpayers are still contacting in Regional Tax Office Multan due to unavailability of database records after the completion of two and half months of existing fiscal year 2017-18. Business community of Khanewal and Kasur were facing issues and they have demanded FBR to withdraw their new status of Jurisdiction.
