ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) issued notices to salaried employees working in private sector inquiring 13 types of details within two weeks, it is learnt here.
Official sources told Customs Today that audit department of Regional Tax Offices issued notices to salaried persons working in private sector directing them to provide details of their income and expense within two weeks.
In the notices, the salaried employees have been asked to provide details of gift received, copies of bank details, including ledger accounts, trading accounts, profit and loss accounts, claims of expenditure/expenses, mode of payment, tax returns, advance deposit, pre-payment, copy of NTN and also copy of passport, sources added.
Meanwhile, it is also important to highlight here that some private sector employees even don’t have some of these information so how can an employees provide such information like bank ledger account details and details of gifts. While FBR’s employees also don’t have such records and details; however, the aim behind this step is to broaden the tax net, sources added.
