LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has frozen the bank accounts of Subway Franchise to recover income tax of millions of rupees on the MM Alam Road.
FBR Tax House officials told Customs Today that the FBR created demand of Rs 1.7 million income tax and served notice upon the owners of the franchise. However, they failed to comply with the orders.
The FBR regional tax office recovered Rs 0.5 million after attaching the bank accounts in Standard Chartered Bank Branch in Gulberg.
Sources said that in order to achieve the financial year revenue target, all the establishments in Pakistan have started crackdowns on the tax evaders.
A source said that the regional tax offices have prepared strategies to bring in the tax evaders in tax net by the end of the financial year 2015-16.
