KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Jahanzaib Khan has said that people filing their taxes are more important than anyone but their are few who are filing less taxes.
According to the details, Chairman FBR Jahanzaib Khan arrived Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry ( FPCCI) and met with the office bearers. During the meeting the FBR chairman was briefed regarding the overall situation as well as informed about the problems faced by them.
Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Jahanzaib Khan while addressing the members of the FPCCI stated that he will visit Karachi every month and will also meet with the associations as well as the members of the federations.
Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) said that collection of taxes is not an easy task and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is focusing on the main issue to bring more able people into the tax net.
He informed that the current government is very concern as well as eager to enhance tax net by bringing the people into the tax net who never ever paid the tax. Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is very much committed for not harassing any individual or the business community at any cost, whereas their is always a need to work for the betterment the tax collection procedure which is also under consideration.
A data base has been developed due to which 6.000 people have been given notices to file Rs3 billion and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has been able to collect Rs1.75 billion so far which is an achievement, added chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Jahanzaib Khan.
Current year is so very important with regards to tax collection but due to current situation less tax collection is recorded. People taking benefits of amnesty scheme their names have been kept hidden, further stated Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Jahanzaib Khan.
He also said that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will also table a suggestion for the registration of every business in the upcoming budget which also help in enhancement of tax collection, he assured his full support to the Federations as well as Associations to resolve their problems on priority basis.
