MULTAN: Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office (RTO) Multan Khawaja Asif Raza Saleem has said that the Multan office has collected the highest tax revenues in the Customs history of the country.
He was briefing the participants of Chief Commissioner Conference which was chaired by Member Operation Inland Revenue Dr Irshad and were attended by Director Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue Haroon Khan Tareen and the chief commissioners from Punjab.
Saleem said that the Multan RTO has collected Rs 65.30 billion from July to April and has attained almost 98.53 percent of the allocated target.
He further said that the collection has gone up due to effective planning of the department which has achieved the target for April.
Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office Multan has informed participants of the conference that we are on the right track for achieving of our assigned revenue He spoke on this occasion that tax collection of Regional Tax Office shown remarkable growth during the existing economic year despite falling prices in the international market.
The Regional Tax Office Multan is motivating taxpayers to file tax returns for enhancement of tax revenue and we are also searching potential taxpayers through various sources to widen the scope of tax net. He also informed that the withholding tax has major contribution in the tax collection of the Regional Tax Office Multan and we are striving hard to achieve our revenue targets.
Member Operations DrMuhmmad Irshad has shown resentment over the decline in the withholding tax collection of the RTO Bahawalpur and directed Chief Commissioner RTO Bahawalpur Ghazanfar Hussain to take special measures for the accomplishment of revenue target. Irshad praised the revenue performance of the RTO Multan in the first ten months of the fiscal year 2015-16.
He directed all tax authorities of the Punjab to ensure to meet the revenue targets of the FBR before the end of fiscal year 2015-16.
