ISLAMABAD: Following the horrible earthquake that jolted most parts of the country, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to extend the deadline for filing of tax returns for the victims, besides offering the tax exemptions to quake-effected people, it is learnt here.
Sources said FBR is in process to outline the suggestions in order to facilitate the residents and business community of the quake-hit areas, adding that all suggestions will be sent to Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for approval.
They hoped that a notification to offer liabilities to the victims will be issued in upcoming days by the ministry.
During running fiscal year 2015-16, the govt will also offer exemptions to the industries based in quake-hit area, they said.
