MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue Regional Tax Office has issued tax notices to 50 existing and former Station House Officer of police department for filing their income tax returns.
Sources told Customs Today that the Regional Tax Office has issued income tax notices to almost 50 Station House Officer (SHOs) of the different police stations in the jurisdiction. Tax authorities of Regional Tax Office observed that police officers are not filing their income taxes regularly. Regional Tax Office Multan has finalized lists of SHOs for not filing their tax returns and these SHOs were issued tax notices for the filing of their income taxes.
Regional Tax Office Multan has also met with City Police Officer Multan and Regional Police Office to inform them about actual situations of income tax returns filed by police and they were requested to cooperate with tax authorities.
City Police Officer Multan Sarfraz Ahmad Falki and Regional Police Officer Muhammad Idrees ensured tax authorities of Regional Tax Office Multan for the filing of income tax returns as soon as possible. Police officers were given 15days of deadline for the filing of their income tax returns.
Two Station House Officer including Malik Muhammad Umer and Umer Daraz have filed their income tax returns after directions from high officials of police officials.
