ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue has achieved the second highest figure for the year 2015 by implementing 1,412 recommendations made by the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO).
Highlighting the FBR cooperation, an FTO report says that the FBR implemented most of its recommendations in 2015.
These numbers are slightly less than the year 2012 when the FBR implemented 1,420 recommendations. However, the FBR had not met the FTO expectations in years 2014, 2013, 2011, 2010 and 2009 when it implemented less number of recommendations i.e. 1,374, 1,208, 1,159, 698 and 321 only respectively.
Talking to Customs Today, a senior official of the FTO office stated that they expect the FBR to enhance its compliance on the number of recommendations.
He said the time frame to implement the recommendations was another aspect of the affairs which needed to be improved in order to provide relief to complainants. He said that this would for sure result in improving tax collection for which the FTO and the FBR are made for.
