ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has adopted strict policy against tax defaulters and directed all Regional Tax Offices to attach moveable and immoveable assets of all tax defaulters under the Rule 158 of the Income Tax Rules, 2002 without any delay.
Sources told Customs Today that Regional Tax Office already implemented the directions of the FBR and started to attach the properties of tax defaulters.
On Wednesday, Inland Revenue Muhammad Saleem has order to attachment of Land Cruiser as moveable property of tax defaulter of Rs 1.942 million namely Aurangzaib Arif, a resident of street no 37, House no 618, sector E-11/3, Islamabad.
Aurangzaib had failed to pay Rs. 1.942 million for which a notice under section 138 (1) of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 was issued to him on April 14, 2017.
Inland Revenue Officer Muhammad Saleem has said that in case of default and in pursuance of recovery of income tax arrears Aurangzaib Arif is prohibited and restrained until further orders from transferring of vehicle Toyota Land Cruiser, Registration No, UW 001, Engine Number2UZ-242389X, chassis number UZ 1200-4000726, or subjecting the same to a charge in any manners and, that all persons are prohibited from taking any benefit under such transfer or charge.
