‘FBR delays refund cases to show more growth, hoodwink IMF’

LAHORE: Former president Lahore Tax Bar Association (LTBA) Zahid Attiq Chaudhry said that 25 percent growth in revenue collection during first 4 months of 2013-14 was nothing but jugglery of words and the Board was delaying Rs 20billion refund cases to demonstrate the growth.

Through delayed refund, FBR was hoodwinking both the government and IMF. Revenue was actually increased due to one percent increase in GST and other extra taxes, he claimed.

He demanded of FBR to ensure immediate payment of delayed refunds.
