SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has declared Gujranwala Electric Power Company (Gepco) as a defaulter of Rs 440 million.
According to the senior FBR officials, the Gepco collected Rs 440 million as sales tax and income tax in the monthly electricity bills from 2.9 million Gepco consumers.
They said that the Gepco had not yet paid Rs 240 million as income tax and Rs 200 million as sales tax to the FBR, despite the repeated appeals made by the FBR in this regard.
