SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected Rs 100 million in wake of taxes on the last day of the outgoing calendar year, 2015 from Sialkot and Gujranwala regions.
According to the details, there was a great strength of the taxpayers including exporters, importers, industrialists, traders and tax lawyers witnessed at the local taxation offices in Sialkot and Gujranwala for depositing their sales taxes, withholding taxes and central excise taxe.
Officials said that the FBR and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) had made special arrangements in active collaboration with Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) at the local taxation offices to facilitate the taxpayers. The SBP offices and authorized branches of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) remained opened until 12:00 am (mid-night) on December 31, 2015 to facilitate the local taxpayers.
The taxpayers showed encouraging response, besides showing keen interest in depositing their taxes; the FBR officials added.
