ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has sent the reply of a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office, which had been sent by the secretary to prime ministr, Fawad Hassan Fawad, regarding the appointments of corrupt officials on attractive posts in field formations.
According to the FBR sources, FBR Chairman Tariq Mehmood Pasha denied all the allegations, which were leveled by the secretary to the prime minister in the letter. In his reply, the chairman said that the board appointed their best choices in the field formations and increase in tax revenue collection proved that the field formations were trying to perform their best.
The chairman also sent the list of all appointments, transfers and postings, inquiries and their findings against senior FBR officers since 2013.
The chairman has also attached the orders of the Federal Services Tribunal, High Courts and Supreme Court for the restorations of the terminated officers.
FBR sources has told Customs Today, that Chairman FBR has tried to clear the position of the board and assured the Prime Minister Office that all officers are being appointed on merit and this practices will continue in future.
