ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan has vowed to achieve the annual target of Rs 3,104 billion for current fiscal year 2015-16.
He stated this in a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to review the performance of the FBR. The minister was informed that the board collected Rs 2,103 billion during first nine months of 2015-16 showing 19.7 percent increase over the corresponding period last year.
The net collection in March 2016 recorded at all time high Rs 297 billion as compared to Rs 230 billion collected during last year, while the net revenue collection in third quarter (January-March 2016) stands at Rs 718 billion as compared to Rs 588 billion in corresponding period of last year showing an increase of 22.1 percent.
In the meeting, the finance minister commended the efforts Special Assistant to PM on Revenue Haroon Akhtar Khan, FBR Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan and his team for impressive revenue collection.
The ministers emphasised more facilitation from FBR to taxpayers for filing of returns, simplification of procedures.
