ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan has reserved his decision after personally hearing a case against Inland Revenue Service officer Abdul Qasim Johari.
Sources told Customs Today that Abdul Qasim Johari is facing charges of violation of official rules and regulations and using official authorities beyond his jurisdiction. Sources said that after conducting inquiry against the above said official, Member Administration FBR Majid Qureshi ordered to suspend his performance allowance. Johari personally appeared before the Member Administration to explain his position and point of view but had failed to prove his innocence and charges leveled against him were found valid.
After concluding the inquiry Member Administration Majid Qureshi recommended stern disciplinary action against Abdul Qasim Johari. He was allowed to file appeal before chairman FBR against inquiry. Abdul Qasim Johari filed an appeal before chairman and listen his point of view, while on the other hand Member Administration submitted documentary evidence against Abdul Qasim Johari. After hearing the point of view of Abdul Qasim Johari, chairman FBR Nisar Mohammad Khan reserved his decision which will be announced in near future.
Sources said that now its upto chairman FBR to take a final decision about the future of above said official who may be terminated from service.
