SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has assigned Rs 35.265 billion revenue target to Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Sialkot for fiscal year 2016-17 while it collected Rs 28.233 billion during last year.
According to details, the Chairman FBR Nisar Muhammad Khan assigned the revenue generation target to the Model Customs Collectorate. The customs sales tax revenue target for current fiscal year will be Rs 22.1 billion while it was Rs 18.912 billion during the previous fiscal year. The MCC will collect federal excise duty (FED) with a target of Rs 225.61 million while the customs collected Rs 206 million during the previous fiscal year. Sources said that MCC have to collect Rs 236.71 million as withholding tax for fiscal year 2015-16 while it collected Rs 210 million during last fiscal year.
The Collector Ahmad Reza Khan said that serious effort would be made to achieve the target of fiscal year 2015-16. He said that the Customs Department would try to achieve the said target. He said that the FBR already has appreciated the performance of MCC Sialkot.
Collector Ahmed Reza said that that customs collectorate will use all available resources to meet the revenue collection target of current Fiscal Year 2016-17. He said that the Collecotrate is already adopted a comprehensive strategy to meet the revenue target of Fiscal Year 2016-17. Collector Raza said that due to these measures he is optimistic that they will achieve revenue collection target.
