FAISALABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a human trafficker namely Tanveer Ijaz son of Khadim Hussain and second person named as Manzoor Hussain son of Khadim Hussain during an action.
Sources told Customs Today that FIA Deputy Director Syed Imam Zaidi and Sub-inspectors Taimoor Haider and Abbas Bajwa conducted a raid on the residence of the accused person who was running an illegal business of sending innocent people abroad after extorting amounts from them. The accused persons also extorted Rs5,60,000 from complainant Jahangir Hussain resident of 131 RB Chak Jumra Faisalabad for sending him to Cyprus .
The FIA also recovered original Pakistani passport and some copies of other passports from his possession. While checking the mobile phone of the accused, scanned copies of FIRs, affidavits, CNICs of different people, sticker visas of Cyprus electronic tickets, bank transaction receipts and whatsapp conversation with different agents regarding employment visas for different countries were found.
The FIA sent the accused behind the bars after registering a case No. 78/17 of human smuggling under Section (U/S), 17/22 Immigration Ordinance 1979. Further investigations are in progress.
