FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence has recovered foreign origin miscellaneous auto parts worth Rs4.5million involving Customs Duty and Taxes of Rs2.8million during a crackdown.
Sources informed Customs Today that Directorate of Customs Intelligence Rabab Sikander received a tip-off about some smuggling attempts. She formed a raiding team. The customs team intercepted a trailer with registration No: P- 2729 near Jhang Road Byass Faisalabad and recovered smuggled auto parts including Radiator fans with motors (1346-Pcs), AC blower with motors (2990-Pcs), Complete doors for cars (30-Pcs ), Diggi covers for Cars (37-Pcs), Auto steerings for car ( 5-Pcs), Spellers with lights for cars ( 22-Pcs), Head backlights ( 60-Pcs) and other items.
The customs team asked the accused, identified as Muhammad Amin son of Taj Din, a resident of Faisalabad, to produce legal documents regarding the possession of loaded goods but he failed to provide any relevant documents.
The customs team seized the goods under the Customs Act-1969 and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for further proceeding.
