FAISALABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I), Regional Office Faisalabad Auction Committee, has conducted an auction of impounded vehicles and other smuggled goods after the permission of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and generated Rs01.5 income.
Deputy Director (DD) Riaz Hussain said during different anti-smuggling activities, the Customs Intelligence has seized smuggled items under the Transit Trade Route from GT Road, M1, M2, M3 Faisalabad, Sargodha and Sumandri and shifted the same to the state warehouse.
The intelligence authority has registered cases of seized goods and referred the cases to the Adjudication Department for proceeding. After the conclusion of proceeding of the case, the court announced the judgment in favour of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad.
Auction Committee Executive Deputy Director Muhammad Riaz told Customs Today that various parties participated in the bid but only three offered attracted prices while intelligence sold a printed plastic paper (5395-kg) against Rs210000, F/O dyed brown shade knitted sherpa (1475-kg) against Rs36000 and parts of vehicle worth Rs855000.
It is to mention here that the Customs Intelligence has already expedited its efforts to generate more revenue to meet the assigned target of the current Fiscal Year 2017. The auction was held at the Customs Intelligence and Investigation office, Amin Town, Canal Road. Faisalabad Deputy Director Muhammad Riaz supervised the auction.
