FAISALABAD: The Customs Collectorate Appraisement collected Rs 761.4 million during October 2016 against the set target of Rs 630.830 million surpassing it by 121 percent.
The Customs Appraisement collected revenue under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty during the said period.
According to the statistics available data with Customs Today, it collected Rs 138.681 million as customs duty against the set target of Rs 108 million.
The Collectorate also surpassed the target set for sales tax as it collected Rs 610.935 million against the set target of Rs 493 million which is more than 124 percent.
Customs Appraisement also collected Rs 11.755 millions in wake of income tax during the said period against the set target of Rs 14 million and surpassed the target by Rs 84%. It collected Rs 0.065 million in wake of federal excise duty (FED), against target Rs 15.830 million.
Customs Appraisement Additional Collector Muhammad Saeed Asad said that the customs department has already send notices to a number of tax defaulters in recent months asking them to clear outstanding tax dues at the earliest to avoid stern action.
