FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement collected Rs507.905 million during the month of April 2019 against the set target of Rs952 million, surpassing the target by 53 percent.
Customs Appraisement collected revenue under the heads of customs duty (CD), sales tax (ST), income tax (IT) and federal excise duty (FED) during the said period.
According to the statistics available with Customs Today, the Collectorate collected Rs289.995 million as customs duty against the set target of Rs288 million.
The Collectorate surpassed the target set for sales tax by Rs205.758 million as it collected Rs653 million against the set target.
It collected Rs12.152 millions in wake of income tax during the said period against the set target of Rs 11 million and surpassed the target by 110 percent. The department could not collect any amount in shape of federal excise duty (FED).
Assistant Collector Ameer Ahmed said that the department has already sent notices to a number of tax defaulters in recent months asking them to clear outstanding tax dues at the earliest to avoid stern action.
