FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Customs Adjudication adjourned the hearing of 126 seizure cases worth Rs3785.003million during the month of March 2018.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs Adjudication Collector Asif Abbas has adjourned the hearing of 36 cases of Rs3647.996million of value pertaining to the seizures of various items. The cases were made by customs authorities. The collector directed the owners of seized goods and their counsels to conclude their arguments in the next hearing.
Furthermore, Additional Collector Asma Hameed postponed the hearing of 46 cases valued at Rs113.569million. Most of the adjourned seizure cases were detected and registered by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation while few cases were made by the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO).
Meanwhile, Deputy Collector Saima Ayaz put off the hearing of 44 smuggled cases involving customs duty and taxes worth Rs23.438million. The seizure cases, pertaining to smuggled vehicles, mobile phones, base oil, tyres and tubes and auto parts, were heard by the Customs Adjudication.
