KARACHI: The Excise and Taxation Department has launched a crackdown on non-registered and non-token paid cars in Karachi.
The crackdown was exercised in Sadr area of Karachi on Wednesday. One of the owners told Customs Today that “the Excise Department is chasing cars owners and much of their time is wasted away in checking due to long lines of cars.”
According to Excise officer Muhammad Irfan, “they have fined a lot of cars during the last four days and this operation will continue for the next week.” He said that the department is also considering continuing this operation until the end of December.
