FAISALABAD: Excise and Taxation department anti-narcotics branch has collected Rs60.326 million from July 2016 to January 2017 of current fiscal year and achieved its annual target of Rs 89.251 million.
Sources told Customs Today that excise department collected Rs 45.245 million from Faisalabad during the first seven months of current fiscal year against the assigned target Rs82.614 million while Rs2.850 million were collected from Jhang against the assigned target of Rs 4.683 million during the seven month.
Excise Chiniot generated Rs1.588 million tax by achieving its target of Rs 0.756 million. Moreover Toba Tek Singh also generated Rs642,250 against the assigned target Rs1.19 million.
Meanwhile Excise and Taxation Department has collected Rs5.568 million in terms of entertainment duty during the first seven months of the fiscal year 2016-17. Sources said that excise collected Rs5.369 million against the assigned annual target of Rs 9.113 million.
Sources said that Excise and Taxation Department already expedited their efforts to recover outstanding amount from defaulters. Sources said that stern action will be taken against those who will found involved in tax evasion.
It is necessary to mention here that Excise and Taxation department already issued tax notices to defaulters warning them to clear the outstanding tax amount at the earliest. Sources said that those defaulters who will fail to clear pending dues will have to face stern action which will led to seizure of their movable and immovable taxes and attachment of their banking accounts also.
