FAISALABAD: Excise and Taxation department anti-narcotics branch has collected Rs 30.752 million from July to November 2016 of current fiscal year and achieved its annual target of Rs 89.251 million.
Sources told Customs Today that excise department collected Rs 27.740 million from Faisalabad during the first five months while Rs 1.033 million were collected from Jhang against the assigned target of Rs 4.683 million.
Excise Chiniot generated Rs 1.515 million tax by achieving its target of Rs 0.756 million. Similarly excise collected Rs 0.462 million against the assigned target of Rs 1.197 million during the first five months of current Fiscal Year2016-17.
Meanwhile Excise and Taxation Department has collected Rs 4.08 million in terms of entertainment duty during the first five months of the fiscal year 2016-17. Sources said that excise collected Rs 3.919 million against the assigned annual target of Rs 8.684 million, which has been achieved up to 45 percent.
Sources said that Excise and Taxation Department already expedited their efforts to recover outstanding amount from defaulters. Sources said that stern action will be taken against those who will found involved in tax evasion. Sources said that Excise and Taxation department already issued tax notices to defaulters warning them to clear the outstanding tax amount at the earliest. Sources said that those defaulters who will fail to clear pending dues will have to face stern action which will led to seizure of their movable and immovable property and attachment of their banking accounts also.
