ISLAMABAD: Chief Collector Northern Region and Collector MCC Islamabad bade farewell to outgoing Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan at the Islamabad Club. Member, Customs of FBR Nasir Masroor, Collector Peshawar, Collector Samberial, Collector Gilgit-Baltistan and President FPCCI, retired and young officers of customs, participated in the farewell.
In his welcoming remarks, Collector Arslan of the MCC Islamabad said Nisar joined the customs in 1982 and spent his 35 years in service. He further said Nisar served in almost all the collectorates and after becoming Member, Customs, he became the chairman, FBR, on November 2015. He added that Nisar as chairman, FBR, achieved a remarkable collection target of Rs 3.2 trillion.
In her welcoming remarks, Chief Collector North Sarwat Tahira Habib said Nisar Mohammad Khan not only met the revenue targets under his chairmanship but also raised the number of taxpayers to 1.1 million.
Member Customs Nasir Masroor, talking on the occasion, said Nisar Khan knew the art of leadership and followed the culture of hard-work. He remarked that Nisar is a big example for junior officers who always pursued integrity, commitment and hard-work which made him reach the maximum heights of your career without using influences.
Talking to the participants, Ex-chairman Nisar Khan identified himself with a Ghazal and a poem of Mirza Ghalib and Faiz Ahmad Faiz which he recited respectively on the occasion. He shared his life-experiences with his old and young colleagues, saying his long journey of service has many blissful days, also some depressive moments and turmoil.
