LAHORE: The newly-elected LCCI office-bearers on Monday spelled out their priorities with a pledge to work in unison with all the stakeholders to get removed irritants to promote trade and industry in the country.
The newly-elected President Engineer Sohail Lashari, Mian Tariq Misbah and Kashif Anwar were speaking at Annual General Meeting held here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The meeting was presided over by Election Commissioners Mian Muzaffar Ali and Nadir Kamal Usman and also attended by outgoing LCCI President Farooq Iftikhar, Senior Vice President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh former Presidents Mian Anjum Nisar, Mian Mohammad Ashraf, Tariq Hameed, Iftikhar Ali Malik, Mohammad Ali Mian, Mian Misbahur Rehman, Mian Shafqat Ali, Sheikh Muhammad Asif, Senator Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry, Irfan Qaiser Sheikh former Senior Vice Presidents Sheikh Muhammad Arshad, Tahir Javed Malik, former Vice Presidents Aftab Ahmad Vohra and Shafqat Saeed Piracha besides a large number of representatives of trade and industry Associations.
Elaborating the priority areas, the LCCI office-bearers said that early construction of water reservoirs, utilisation of alternative resources for energy generation, taking exports to new global destinations, establishment of new trade facilitation centre at Wagha, capacity building of LCCI members through seminars and language courses, liaison with trade and industry Associations, chambers of commerce and industry in Punjab and promotion of IT culture would be pursued during the year.
