LAHORE: Electronic stamp papers are being introduced in Lahore District from June 8 to control forgery and handle other land record issues.
The experiment would later be replicated and expanded throughout the province, said Senior Member Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf while speaking at a meeting on Friday.
He said the person purchasing the stamp paper would be informed through SMS. Challan Form 32-A will also be loaded through computer after provision of complete information, he added.
The Senior Member Board of Revenue said the mission of the Punjab Chief Minister to make the province corruption-free and to foil tactics of forgers in the province.
He said forger mafia deserved no sympathy and leniency.
He said awareness seminars would be held in Lahore and other cities regarding the benefit of electronic stamp paper and its importance in future.
He said due to electronic stamp papers every kind of land would be saved and no irregularity will be made in electronic stamp papers besides the government will also collect revenue in a better manner.
