LAHORE: The Eden Housing Society owners failed to appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) which had summoned them for Friday at its Lahore office.
The anti-graft watchdog had summoned the owners of the housing society including Dr Amjad, Anum Amjad, Murtaza Amjad and Mustafa Amjad, but no one appeared.
Earlier, on the directions of Director General NAB Lahore Saleem Shehzad, all assets and banks accounts of the owners were seized. During its probe so far, the bureau claimed to have obtained details of the properties of the EHS owners, according to which they had at least 111 commercial plots in Eden housing projects in Lahore alone.
The Eden management has eight commercial plots near Eden Canal Villas and Canal Road. They have two commercial plots of four Kanals near airport. The NAB initial inquiry revealed that the accused had two commercial plots of 10 Marlas in Eden City near the airport. The NAB claimed to have found evidence of property owned by the society owners in Eden Abad, Defence Road, which was entitled to Eden Housing and its directors. They have 404 Kanals in Mauza Tamma, Chatha and Mohriyan. They had 333 Kanals in the name of Golden Earth and AM Farm in Mauza Bhagrian and Zila Dharma Chandar.
The NAB has uploaded a complaint form against the Eden management for the public to file their complaints on its website. A NAB spokesman said the bureau received at least 2,000 complaints against Eden housing projects so far.
