DUBAI: Dubai Press Club (DPC), the organiser of the Arab Media Forum (AMF), today announced the key partners for the 16th edition of the annual event. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is the sustainability partner; Dubai Media City is the leading partner; Emirates Integrated Telecommunication Company (Du) the telecommunication partner; and Dubai Chamber the supporting partner. A major annual event for the media industry, AMF will be held under the patronage of Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at Madinat Jumeirah on 1st and 2nd May 2017. President of Dubai Press Club (DPC) and Chairperson of AMF Organising Committee Mona Ghanim Al Marri said that the fact that leading local organisations have come together to support the AMF is a testament to their belief in the importance of the media and its role in promoting a dialogue on driving the Arab world’s overall development. Al Marri expressed her appreciation for the partnership and welcomed the support extended by the partners, which will contribute towards helping the media fulfill its role in making a difference in the lives of people and promoting peace and stability in the region.
Meanwhile, the partners hoped that their support will help realise the objectives of the Arab Media Forum, a major platform for highlighting issues of concern and discussing key developments affecting the region’s progress. MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said that DEWA’s partnership with the Arab Media Forum (AMF) is aligned with the vision of Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to revive Arab civilization by harnessing its resources.
“Through this collaboration, we aim to build a solid foundation for a sustainable civilization that will support the achievement of Dubai’s renewable energy and solar energy goals, which in turn will help create a prosperous future for upcoming generations. “Each year, we participate in the Arab Media Forum, as we believe the event is an important interactive platform for disseminating awareness on environmental issues related to energy security, conserving natural resources and rationalising consumption among the public, and keeping them well-informed on key developments. These efforts are well aligned with overall government strategies and policies related to renewable energy to ensure sustainable development while preserving the environment, which is key to achieving a perfect balance between economic and social development. The UAE has taken many steps towards establishing leadership in the solar world by expanding its local solar manufacturing sector, lowering energy financing costs and encouraging low bidding.” Al Tayer also expressed his happiness at the partnership between DPC and DEWA noting that rationalising energy use is no longer an individual responsibility, but a collective one and the media is a vital tool for spreading the culture of sustainability.

Dubai Chamber’s President and CEO Hamad Buamim expressed his happiness at the partnership. This is the second consecutive year that Dubai Chamber is extending its support to AMF as a partner. Buamim said that the Forum is an ideal platform for exchanging ideas on the most vital challenges facing the Arab world and the wider region. He further added that choosing ‘Civil Dialogue’ as this year’s theme supports the efforts of the emirate of Dubai to promote peaceful coexistence among different nations, races, culture and religions; spread peace and respect towards others; and reject hatred and racism. Earlier, the Organising Committee of the Forum announced DP World as the strategic partner of the 16th edition of AMF, while Dubai Post was named the digital media partner. The Media Partners were also announced. They include: Google, Twitter, Thomson Reuters, Al Arabiya News Channel, Sky News Arabia, Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), Abu Dhabi Media Company, Al Bayan, Al Ittihad, Al Khaleej, Emarat Alyoum, Arab News, Al Watan, Al Roeya newspapers, Arabian Radio Network and Aloula Radio. Al Nabooda Automobiles (Audi) was named the transportation partner.The 16th edition of the Arab Media Forum will be held under the theme of ‘Civil Dialogue’, which highlights the role of media in facilitating cross-cultural discussions, which are crucial for the region at the current time. The annual event is expected to attract industry leaders, experts and media professionals from the regional and international media industry.
