ISLAMABAD: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Dr. Mohammad Irshad is likely to be next chairman of FBR Foundation.
According to the FBR sources, Special Advisor to Prime Minister on Revenue Haroon Akhtar has recommended the name of Dr. Mohammd Irshad for the office of Chairman FBR Foundation to Finance Minister Senator Mohmmad Ishaq Dar. On the approval of Finance Minister, the name of Dr. Mohammd Irshad is moved from the establishment division.
It is pertinent to mention here that according to the board’s requirement, a retired officer of grade 21 and above of FBR can be head of FBR Foundation. Last month, grade 21 officer of Pakistan Custom Service Group of the Federal Board of Revenue, Saleem Ahmed Ranjha, has been selected as first CEO of FBR. He is also serving as Director General Intellectual Property Rights, Federal Board of Revenue.
Now for the betterment of the FBR employees, it has been decided that a full-time working officer should be in the foundation and the FBR retired officer can run the affairs better than a serving officer. Therefore, it is expected that Saleem Ranjha will remain the chief executive officer of the foundation and Dr. Mohammad Irshad is likely to be appointed as first chairman of FBR Foundation.
According to sources, Dr. Mohammad Irshad absolutely meets the criteria for the said office. He has an impeccable service record during his entire service. It is also pertinent to mention here that Dr. Mohammad Irshad wants to set this foundation on the pattern of other successful foundations. This is his efforts that he made FBR Foundation an active and vibrant organization.
