LAHORE: Customs officers and staff paid glowing tributes to Collector of Customs Appeal Dr Asif Jah for receiving Sitar-e-Imtiaz in recognition of his untiring services for the rehabilitation of ailing humanity across the country.
In a special reception given by the Customs Union in honour of Dr Asif Jah, the customs officers and staff acknowledged the fact that Dr Asif Jah has glorified name of the customs service by serving the needy people.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Collector of Customs Rozi Khan Burki said that he has spent a very short time with Dr Asif and found him multi-talented and individual of diversified qualities.
He said that Dr. Jah has not only made meritorious contributions to the restoration of people hit hard by the natural calamities all across the country but also performed well professionally.
Collector of Customs Appraisement Lahore Muhamamd Sadiq said that recognition of Dr Asif Jah’s social services by the government was praiseworthy.
He said that Jah’s services for the humanity has caused the customs services seem more splendid for which the department is indebted to him and his family that supported him through every thick and thin for the cause of social work.
Director Customs Intelligence Saud Imran said that Dr Asif Jah has devoted important part of his life to serve his fellow beings which is commendable reality.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Asif Jah said that he was able to get Sitar-e-Imtiaz due to the support and assistance of his colleagues and others in the customs services.
“Customs Service is my proud and feel pleasure being an associate the service,” he said, adding that due to the very reason he named his society as Customs Healthcare Society after the name of Customs services.
He thanked officers and staff of the customs service and expressed his gratitude for their support in any way.
It may be mentioned that Sitara-i-Imtiaz is the third highest honour and civilian award in Pakistan and the award is highly restricted and prestigious, and is only given to those who have done great service to the country.
IOCO Director Mirza Mubashar Baig, PCA Director Rauf Ahmad, Collector Preventive Zulfiqar Younis, Deputy Collectors Usman Tariq, Asma Bashir, Dr Adnan, ADCs Yasin Murtza, Jamil Nasir, Customs Union President Ameer Haider and other were also present on the occasion.
