KARACHI: Director General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Shaukat Ali has asked the officers for better result during the current year.
According to the sources in the Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I), Director General Shaukat Ali has asked the officers for the result oriented and effective raids across the country as well for boosting the revenue collection through auction of goods recovered during the raids.
The source also informed that the director general issued the directives after reviewing the overall progress report of the year 2016. The report covered the total seizures and the total revenues collected through the auction of the seized goods.
The director general being very strict said that the showcase will be served to those officers who are not serious in their duties or not performing the way officers are assigned the duties, the source further informed.
The Director General has directed the officers to produce twenty nine to thirty million rupees more seizures during the current year, the source also informed.
He also asked the officers to make suitable arrangements, spread the blanket of the informers, stay vigilant during the duties and thoroughly check all the documents on the check posts and during seizures whereas the officers involved in the unfair means activities will be dealt with iron hands, said the source.
