FAISALABAD: The Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication Asma Hameed has issued Order-in-Original (ONO) in favour of Anti-Smuggling Organization Faisalabad.
According to details, a team of the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) intercepted a vehicle loaded with foreign cloth. The smuggled foreign cloth was brought into country without payment of customs duty and taxes through unauthorized way.
The Customs team arrested the driver of the vehicle who was identified s Muhammad Afzal Toor son of Bashir Ahmed who is a resident of Al- Faisal Cloth Bazar Toopanwala (owner of the vehicle).
The customs official asked the driver to produce documents regarding import of goods .But he failed to produce the lawful proof. The particular of the vehicle and goods checked on the website and found not tallied. The incharge of PRAL Customs Dry Port Faisalabad has informed that the vehicle imported in the country. Seizure report along with enclosures is being submitted to adjudication authority for adjudication. So it is evidence that as the result of forensic science laboratory, testing report of the vehicle and goods.
During the proceedings, Inspector Asghar Mehdi Naqvi appeared from the petitioner side and no one was appeared from the respondent side. The case decided on the basis of the facts and material available. After hearing the case deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued ONO in favor of ASO Anti Smuggling Organization under section 156(1)89 of the Customs Act 1969.
